Ways to stay informed, have your voice heard, and help spread the word about growth and development in Lexington County…
1. Follow us on FaceBook
2. Visit www.dlrc.org website for updates.
3. Attend county council meetings in person if possible as this really gets the attention of the council when citizens show up. Council Meetings are held at the Lexington County Administration Building in Lexington, 2nd Floor, Council Chambers. Planning Commission, who acts as an advisory only to the council, also holds meetings in the Council Chambers that are open to the public. All of these meetings and the meeting agendas can be viewed on the county website through the meeting portal at: https://www.lex-co.com/MeetingPortal/LexCoMeetingPortal.html . If the meeting has ended, you can still go to this link and scroll down to the tab showing the name of the group meeting, then the specific meeting, and you will find the video there
4. Get to know your council members as they are our voice and work for each of us. They are approachable and most are eager to hear from you. Keep the lines of communication open with them through email or phone call. An email sent to firstname.lastname@example.org will reach all council members or if you want to email or call individual council members you can find their contact information at: https://lex-co.sc.gov/county-council/council-members . We also encourage you to attend school board meetings or watch them on line as well as get to know your school board members.
5. Help us to spread the word to neighbors, family, friends, church members, HOA members, etc. We especially need to reach our neighbors outside of the Lexington and Chapin areas. Encourage each other to become informed and actively involved at the county and school district level.
